James Kimak explores the interplay of light, form, and place through vibrant, realistic paintings with subtle hints of abstraction. Influenced by Edward Hopper, Fairfield Porter, and Richard Diebenkorn, Kimak is drawn to subjects with strong structural shapes, often discovering them unexpectedly. He has exhibited widely in New York and New England, including at the Edward Hopper House Museum & Study Center, the Parrish Art Museum, and the American Museum of Illustration. Formerly represented by Allen Sheppard Gallery in New York City. Kimak currently lives and works in Orangeburg, NY.
