Perry Lawson Fine Art invites artists to submit paintings, drawings, photographs, digital art, prints, and sculpture related to tarot and oracle to be considered for inclusion in the juried exhibition, Tarot and Oracle: The Art of Divination. This exhibition celebrates these unique works as artworks in their own right, highlighting the artists’ creativity, technical skill, and use of compelling imagery and symbolism. We encourage submissions that may appeal to both divination enthusiasts and the wider public.
Participating artists may also offer their corresponding tarot or oracle decks for consideration for sale during the exhibition.
Works will be selected based on technical skill, originality, and their ability to convey meaning through symbolism while functioning as compelling works of art.

The juror
Dannielle TegederDannielle Tegeder is a New York-based Tarot practitioner, artist, and educator. She has been working with the Tarot in her own art practice in the context of her 25-year-long investigation into the unseen structures that power our world. Dannielle believes that Tarot can help anyone, especially artists, access intuition, creativity, and collective knowledge, breaking away from logic and other limited ways of knowing.
As an oracle, Dannielle uses Tarot in her own life and practice, interweaving legacies of hard-edge abstraction and women’s craft with spiritual wisdom. Dannielle is a Professor at Lehman College, CUNY, where she has taught since 2008. She has lectured at Cornell University and SUNY Purchase, in addition to visiting appointments at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Rhode Island School of Design, Pratt, Cooper Union, and Princeton University. She is a co-founder of the feminist art collective Hilma’s Ghost.
Eligibility
- Open to artists 18 years and older residing in the United States.
- Artwork including painting, drawing, photography, digital art, prints and sculpture will be considered.
- Size limitation for 2D works: maximum 36 in. high, maximum 36 in. wide.
- Size limitation for sculpture: maximum 12 x 12 in. at base, 60 in. tall.
- Priority may be given to artwork specifically created for tarot and oracle decks.
What to submit
US$22.00, includes five pieces- A nonrefundable application fee of $22 is required to cover the cost of the juror’s honorarium, call for entry fees, and marketing.
- Up to five images may be submitted.
- Carefully review and adhere to all rules and terms below. If rules and terms are not followed, the application may be rejected.
- A maximum of 200 artist submissions will be reviewed and considered for inclusion. Once that limit has been reached, the juried call will close.
In numerology, 22 is often called the Master Builder, representing vision made tangible. It carries a sense of creating something lasting and significant.
Rules
- Artwork must be for sale.
- Accepted artwork must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition.
- Accepted work must be appropriately framed and display ready. 2D work must be wired, no sawtooth hangers, and ready to hang on walls. No table top or easel-backed frames. No clip frames with exposed glass edges.
- If accepted artwork relates to an existing tarot or oracle deck, we will discuss having it for sale during the exhibition.
- The back of the work must be labeled with the artist’s contact information, title, medium, and price. If multi-media, please be specific about the mediums used.
Terms
Binding if your work is selectedDelivery and pickup in person
Delivery of accepted work: Wednesday, November 11 to Sunday, November 15, 12 to 5 pm, or contact the gallery for other arrangements.
Pick-up of unsold artwork: during normal business hours, January 14 to 17, 12 to 5 pm, or contact the gallery for other arrangements.
Shipped work
Shipped works must arrive no later than Saturday, November 14, packed in a sturdy, reusable container with all packing materials labeled and reusable. No foam packing peanuts. Package in a clean box labeled "handle with care". Any work received after November 14 may not be included in the exhibition.
The artist is responsible for shipping accepted artwork to the gallery. The shipping cost will be deducted from the gallery’s commission if the work is sold. The gallery will cover the cost of return shipping of any unsold work. Any special instructions for packing should be included.
Sales and commission
All work must be for sale at the price specified on the submission application.
The gallery will receive a 50% commission on works sold.
The gallery shall pay the artist all proceeds due within fifteen days of the close of the exhibition, provided payment has been received by the gallery.
Insurance
The gallery will handle your work with utmost care. Artwork will be covered by our fine art insurance policy while on the premises at 90 North Broadway, Nyack, NY. We are not responsible for insuring artwork when it is traveling to and from the gallery.
Copyright and title
By submitting an application for this exhibition, the artist warrants and represents that they created and possess unencumbered title to the artworks submitted. If accepted work is sold, title shall remain in the artist’s name until the artist has received payment in full, at which time title passes directly to the purchaser.
The artist retains copyright to all artworks, including the right to reproduce, distribute, and create derivative works based on the artworks. Ownership of copyright shall survive the sale of the artworks by the gallery.
Marketing and PR
The gallery reserves the right to photographically reproduce accepted entries for publicity purposes.
Agreement to terms
By submitting an application for this exhibition, the artist acknowledges that they have read and agree to abide by the requirements, rules and terms listed here. If the artist’s work is selected for exhibition, these requirements, rules and terms shall constitute a binding agreement between the artist and the gallery, and the artist agrees to comply with all exhibition requirements, deadlines, commission arrangements, insurance provisions, and other terms stated herein.
